Unlike General Motors, many automotive brands have been supportive of marketing via Facebook, and it shows. New statistics from social benchmarking platform Unmetric show that Audi and Mercedes-Benz USA have been two of the most effective automotive companies on Facebook, while Infiniti is the fastest-growing car company on the social network.

Unmetric recently analyzed the way automotive companies perform on social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter, using the Unmetric Score. The Unmetric Score takes into account content strategy, engagement, growth, timing, and frequency of posts.

The more power we give to one social site, the less our options become. YouTube has the current foothold on videos so they can play God with your account. In the blink of an eye, you account ncan be shut down just because … The same goes with Facebook. Be careful!

You have to be pretty damn foolish to not be involved in social media to promote your company. This shows that quite well.

I think Mika is right with Ford… but the same as Harold I too wonder about the market segment/demographics impact this. Anyway – other manufactures are missing the mark.

Audi has done a masterful job of re-inventing themselves. Doesn't hurt that their cars have been terrific too. I'm a Porsche guy and they're amazing car but they don't give a hoot about SoMe, much to my disappointment 'cause I'd love to do it for them. Mercedes gets it too. So does Ford. But, all of them do get narrow-minded in some of their effort, IMO…
