Social Media Cheat Sheet on Word Science – infographic

It is interesting to know that creating shareable post or content is a scientific process and follows certain principles. Social media platforms are now used for marketing by manufacturers and marketers. Like any online marketing site these are informative, inspiring and interactive. It invites viewers to participate in activities like taking part in competitions, invite opinions, and share viewpoints.

Social Media Cheat Sheet

In this online activity, the use of certain words is important. It has been observed that certain words carry a greater impact on readers than others. Companies that use social networking sites for online marketing should make conscious efforts for using these specific words. It has also been found that these networking sites have their respective cache of preferred ‘click-me’ phrases and words.

FaceBook keywords Users of FaceBook are particularly familiar with words such as ‘likes’, ‘comments’, ‘share’, ‘warns’, ‘encourages’, ‘suggestions’, ‘unites’, ‘entertains’, and ‘grants’. Use of these words or terms only does not determine the quality of your webpage. Content in general should be informative and encouraging so that readers come back again and again. Inclusion of photos is another way of improving viewer traffic to your FaceBook page. Here it needs to be noted that for established business houses a rich content attracts more visitors, while for a smaller of new company use of photographs or images is a better option.

Twitter keywords The list of preferred keywords for social networking site Twitter is lengthier. These selected list of words are ‘check it out’, ‘how to’, ‘blog post’, ‘new blog post’, ‘post’, ‘help’, ‘great’, ‘media’, ‘free’, ‘social media’, ‘top 5’, ‘top 10’, ‘follow’, ‘retweet’, and ‘twitter’. Social Media

Social Media: You might be surprised to know that five main companies, the biggest of those companies being Facebook – dominate the world of social media. Aside from the infamous Facebook website and mobile app, Facebook also owns Instagram and Whatsapp. In total Facebook.com is worth over $190 billion – it was founded in 2004, and has over 1 billion monthly users globally. Instagram and Whatsapp swell Facebook’s global monthly user figures to close to two billion – that’s just crazy!

Next on the list is the mighty Google – they own the Google Plus platform, along with YouTube, which Google purchased back in 2006. Google has a combined total of 1.54 billion active monthly users.

The third biggest name in the world of social media is Twitter, with 271 million active monthly users. LinkedIn follows twitter, with 187 million active monthly users, and finally Yahoo (who own Flickr and Tumblr).

Social media startups are still coming thick and fast, with the latest trend being image sharing. Sites like Pinterest and We Heart It are becoming increasingly popular – as are websites and apps like Snapchat, Ask FM and Kik messenger. Although these sites are universally popular, they appeal more to younger age brackets, key demographics in the battle for social media users.

Facebook tried to woo Snapchat – like they did with Instagram and Whatsapp– but the $3 billion offered by Facebook to the app’s owners was rejected. Social media is big business, but most of the deals and handshakes go on behind the scenes – leaving social media users to share, Like, tweet, reblog and publish their innermost thoughts in peace.

Social Media Network

A social networking service or social media network is a platform to build social networks or social relations among people who share interests, activities, backgrounds or real-life connections.

A social network service consists of a representation of each user (often a profile), his social links, and a variety of additional services.

Social networks are web-based services that allow individuals to create a public profile, to create a list of users with whom to share connections, and view and cross the connections within the system.

Social Media Strategy

How much time does social media marketing take out of your work day?

It’s no surprise that social media takes up a larger part of a marketer’s day than it did even a year ago. The addition of social networks your company needs to have a presence on and keep updated is growing out of control, leaving many marketers drowning in the increased time and investment required.

However, the massive amount of time marketers are dedicating to social media these days is no indication that they are doing it right. In fact, I would bet that in most cases the more time a marketer spends on social media, the less likely they are to actually have a strategy at all. Many marketers don’t know how to tackle the mountain that is social media and wind up wasting a lot of time haphazardly updating and monitoring their social presence.

Social media strategy is the deployment and development of modern strategic plans for social media. A Social media strategy incorporates these new ways of communication where media is not only broadcast but also shared, commented, opined edited or modified by the public at large.

A winning social media strategy is all about working smarter, not harder. Unless you are an enterprise level company, all you need to truly rock your social media is 30 minutes a day. With automation tools like Pardot to take care of many of the time-consuming and repetitive tasks, all that you need is a well defined daily plan and some self discipline.

Words That Get Content Shared on Social Media

Words That Get Content Shared on Social Media

Social Media

Do you want more social media traffic?

Did you know that the words you use within your content could drastically affect how much social media traffic you get? For example, if you want more Facebook traffic, then using words like “when,” “tell us,” “submit,” “deals,” and “discounts” can help you get more shares, likes and traffic to your site.

On the other hand, if you use the words “contest,” “promotion,” or “coupon” on Facebook, you’ll actually get fewer shares and likes and less traffic.

In order to help you determine what words you should use and what words you should avoid using on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google+, I’ve created an infographic that breaks down desirable and undesirable word usage on each of these social media platforms.

Content marketing has quickly established itself as an important tool for brands, and that trend is expected to develop next year. 10 Years of Facebook, the history of a Social Giant an infographic

10 Years of Facebook, the history of a Social Giant an infographic

Facebook

This Mashable infographic charts some of the biggest developments – both the highs and the lows – as the social network giant powered its way to over a billion members.

It always makes me smile how each time a major revision happens there is often a huge backlash and then a few months later the public accept it and wonder how they ever managed before.

Facebook turns 10 on February 4 and is celebrating by giving its audience of 1.23 billion a way to relive their digital history on the network with a special release called Look Back.

* in this infographic the WhatsApp takeover is not included yet.

As Mark Zuckerberg reflects upon Facebook’s first 10 years today, he’s encouraging the community he built to do the same. Starting this morning, hundreds of millions of Facebook users will receive a notification that a video summary of their life so far on Facebook is ready to watch. Each user’s “Look Back” compilation contains 15 or so of their most-liked photos, statuses, and life events set to a catchy tune. The videos are a bit cheesy, but are potent reminders that for many of us, Facebook has become a very normal way to document our daily lives.

Facebook’s plan for the next decade is to spread the social-networking love to emerging products. Closer to home, the company is campaigning for coolness and reinventing itself with a series of standalone applications that present Facebook in alternative formats. Monday, the 10-year old company released Paper for iPhone owners in the US. The application presents News Feed and other news in a digestible format better suited for smartphones. Paper seems to be an imagining of what the
