2012′s Most Amazing Social Media Statistics #INFOGRAPHIC

Social media differentiates from traditional/industrial media in many aspects such as quality, reach, frequency, usability, immediacy and permanence.

Did you know that since Twitter first opened its doors back in 2006, more than 163 billion tweets have been sent on the micro-blogging social network?

What if we told you that 25 percent of Facebook users don’t bother with any kind of privacy settings? Or that Google+’s +1 button is used 5 million times per day? Would you be interested to learn that posts on Pinterest that include pricing information receive, on average, 36 percent more pins than those that don’t?

  9. I am amazed by the stat that 56% of customer tweets are ignored by companies. That just seems to me like a ton of cash on the ground just ready to be collected by somebody by just being a little bit smarter.

  20. Lots of cool social stats • the one that caught my eye was that 625,000 people join G+ everyday! • Seems to me that since Google owns search and since G+ content is more rapidly indexed • if you want your content to rise above the noise level and you author good content and your Author Rank rel=author is set up properly • you're in a better position that you would be otherwise.

  21. In some circles • social signals + social shares is the future of SEO • nowadays "you are the brand" so your Author Rank will become your most valuable online asset along with the content connected to your rel=author content and social ink wheel.
