Using Google+ Is The Best Way To Boost Your Website’s Search Ranking With Social
Social media optimization has been something purposely ignored by most search engine optimization experts. The reasons could range from reasons that previously sounded reasonable such as Twitter links being nofollow to silly reasons that could only be described as “bad mojo”. Social media has therefore been held in the regard as just another way to bring short bursts of immediate traffic to your website. Any effect on Google ranking was negligible at best.
Social media activity does provide a boost to rankings. It does so in such a way that it’s more than just “negligible”. We conducted a small research project on 6 different websites and found that some sites gained as much as a 14.63 jump in Google search engine ranking position from just one type of social media activity.
In today’s infographic, Tasty Placement, a SEO company from the United States explained based on an experiment they made how social media can boost the ranking of a website. They have created 6 websites, in similar-sized cities, all in the same niche, and observed how they evolved over time using only the social media.

Google, as well as the other search engines, has always seemed to measure social signals as part of determining ranking. Recently the weight or value of the social signals seems to have increased significantly!

Clip pages is good too. It allows you to snip your anchor text and counts as a dofollow link back. Another good one is bx.businessweek.com. You get a do follow profile link, and the posts are all no follow, so good for overall weight of anchors. Semper fi. Mike

What happened (actions?) in the ten months prior to start of experiment?
Also, “Google position” based on what? Needs more specifics here.
Lastly, be transparent and share the website names and related social media accounts used in this experiment. This will provide a better background on what happened over time.
Observation, I don’t think Google business pages have been around 10 months, so how and when did they get injected in to the experiment?

I know it works and get traffic mainly from social media to my blog/website. Everything is integrated and not separated. SEO is something you have to work on every day and no single activity or campaign for being successful in long term. “Knowledge is the King, Values the Queen and Communication is their Child”. Link and you have a link, create a website and you have a website, create a Twitter account and you have a twitter account and so on. But you have to communicate every day with the people and be personal for creating an interest from your audience! Thanks for sharing a very valuable article!
