Social Media Effect on Recruitment #INFOGRAPHIC

Social media has become the focus of not only our private lives, but our careers as well. Websites like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn have pretty much become a reflection of our daily lives.

Employers have noticed this too. Social media has become the number 1 source of potential employees and talents for employers and recruiting companies to hire. It is cheap, fast, convenient and one of the best ways to judge a person’s character.

Social media includes web- and mobile-based technologies which are used to turn communication into interactive dialogue among organizations, communities, and individuals.

I.e. Social Media are social software which mediate human communication. When the technologies are in place, social media is ubiquitously accessible, and enabled by scalable[clarification needed] communication techniques.

In the year 2012, social media became one of the most powerful sources for news updates through platforms like Twitter and Facebook.

  10. It seems to me that relying on social media score as a factor for job placement is dangerous. I have hired and fired many people over the years and I want someone who has a creative, intuitive, and analytical mind. Social Medial scores do not tell me the context of the information being served or their critical thinking abilities.

  12. It is hard to get businesses to agree with you thoughts on Social Media… it seems to me that they are still trying to bloc the networks and forget that most people use their smart phones to communicate… Maybe your information will encourage a better attitude towards social media?

  28. I love almost all infographics! But this is particularly good, and a salutary warning to the young to be careful what they splash around social media.

  33. Well, seeing as how my last day at the wheel, so to speak, was Jan. 10, 1999 and at that time, there was almost no SM available, I did all of my hiring on a face-to-face basis. I would read their resume before metting with them, then use it and their live visit to determine if they would, or could, do the job.

  35. I love the way Infographics organize lots of information and bring it to you concisely so you can focus quickly on what you want without having to search and reread all over the document! For instance, on this article, it's very easy to see the increase in successful hires due to Social Media year-to-year, as the hexagons containing the numbers get larger as the numbers increase!
    Very good presentation!

  38. I do believe that social media is becoming a factor, because I hear from my business members that they follow my posts on Linked in. I posts this information and they tell they enjoy reading this type of information. This is vital when you consider that they are reading updates on Linked in from my profile posts. That means they look to my profile for information about business and news to help them. Social media is becoming a major factor.
